  • On July 3rd 2009, I was flying my Canadian Cessna 172 (VFR) with my hubby to Redding, California from Vancouver, BC. 35 miles north of Medford, the Ammeter showed a negative charge. I turned the alternator off as per the POH, and decided to land in Medford to check it out. The front desk (Judy?) woman ran out and greeted us with a red carpet and I was awed. It was a royal treatment I appreciated but this was upstaged by the kind and quick willing service from Torrence George, the mechanic who was almost packing up to go home to celebrate the 4th of July. He stayed back for me and helped figure out what was wrong and immediately went to work overtime to help us. A rental car was arranged for us so we could continue to Redding to celebrate Independence Day with our American friends. Torrence even worked over the holiday to order an alternator and flew it in and installed it for us so we could leave on Sunday, July 5th before the bad weather came over the Cascades. Without his willingness to help us we might have been stuck in Medford for a week. We arrived home on Sunday evening just in time to see the wet foggy weather moving into Vancouver. We are safe and had a very good holiday despite the expensive experience. We understand we had to pay overtime, call out time, and special delivery of the parts. Thanks, Torrence!!

  • I simply wanted to take this time to thank you for your extraordinary hospitality, assistance, communication and professionalism during our stay with you in Medford. You and your team expeditiously arrived in Roseburg (RBG) and helped us evaluate our overall situation and wasted no time in getting directly to the point and 84GC safely out of RBG and down to your facility at MFR in order to get right to work. I would like to point out that the two gentlemen who came up to us were pleasant, professional and thorough. When we arrived at MFR, we were met by you and the rest of your team in the same manner as the two who came to us in RBG. You all got right down to business and, within a relatively short amount of time, were able to identify our primary problem and go above and beyond normal operations to get rectified. In addition, your team also accepted a few other general maintenance issues which were due, as well as recognizing other items that need to be addressed in the near future.   Thank you once again for your assistance.   Respectfully,
